Silvia Mariotti (born in Fano, 1980) lives and works in Milan. She graduated in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino. Her research develops through the layering of elements drawn from history, literature, and cultural and social symbols that evoke a sense of unreality, suspended between mystery and marginality. Through photography and sculpture, the artist brings back to the image the impressions and experiences she has lived, shaping ambivalent worlds that generate a sense of temporal suspension and open up new interpretations. She has exhibited in various galleries and public institutions, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lissone, Villa Manin in Passariano, the Civic Gallery of Piran (SLO), the Lutetia Building – FAAP in São Paulo (BR), the Ducal Palace of Urbino, the Center for Graphic Arts in Ljubljana, MACTE in Termoli, Fondazione ICA in Milan, and MUHNAC in Lisbon.
