About

PORTOFRANCO (15 November 2025 – 15 February 2026) is an exhibition which showcases artists of different generations and backgrounds, creating a dialogue between historical perspectives and the visions of younger or mid-career artists. This intertwining of viewpoints shapes a multifaceted narrative, capable of offering multiple interpretations within a context – Palazzo Soranzo Novello – steeped in dense memory, dark, surreal, and captivating. It is a place that calls to be reactivated, not only through beauty but by fostering a critical and reflective space open to a more serene future imagination. The participating artists explore and inhabit the palace’s spaces through diverse languages – painting, photography, installation (including site-specific works), video, sculpture, and performance – generating a layered emotional journey constructed across multiple levels of perception. Memory, suspension, fantastical yet uneasy suggestion: these are some of the elements guiding the narrative and inviting visitors to imagine possible stories, bridging past and future. The idea of spaces inhabited by the ghosts of the past gives room to the present: a redemptive nature seeps through the cracks and proposes new scenarios; the intimacy of home contrasts with that of the workplace, a dynamic overturned by the artists’ interventions; private space is approached with seriousness, irony, or reflection; power is subverted, and the human reclaims its spaces and rhythms. The exhibition thus becomes a field of shared visions, where, through the works and actions of prominent artists, an urgent mission emerges: to rethink a collective and participatory future, starting from abandoned spaces that are nevertheless rich in stories and memories.
