Fabio Roncato

Fabio Roncato (born in Rimini, 1982) lives and works in Milan. After graduating in Painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, he enriched his training through residencies in Italy and abroad, including Atelier Bevilacqua La Masa (Venice), VIR–Via Farini (Milan), Fondazione Spinola Banna (Turin), Jan van Eyck Academie (Maastricht), and the Shanghai Prize at East China Normal University (Shanghai). His research investigates the limits of visual representation and the relationship between matter and the observer, encouraging matter itself to develop autonomous and independent behaviors. Movement, the exploration of places, and dialogue with communities play a central role in his creative processes. He has exhibited in both institutional and independent contexts, including the Jeonnam International Sumuk Biennale, Republic of Korea (2025), the Italian Pavilion at the 14th Gwangju Biennale (2023), the Museo della Montagna, Turin (2024), Platea Palazzo Galeano, Lodi (2022), the Museo Civico di Scienze Naturali, Brescia (2022), and Galleria delle Prigioni, Treviso (2021). Previous exhibitions include GAMeC, Bergamo (2020), MUSE, Trento (2020), and the Civic Museums of Bassano del Grappa (2018).
